Why we started
There is an entire industry built around buying and selling houses, and almost nothing built around the thirty years in between. Once the keys change hands, a homeowner is handed a pile of manuals and left to work out on their own when the water heater should be flushed, which roofer is honest, and where the permit for the deck went.
People who own several homes, or who have more money than time, solve this by hiring someone. Everyone else improvises, and mostly finds out what they should have done when something is already leaking. We think the same kind of attention ought to be available to ordinary homeowners, and that most of it is organization rather than expertise.
So that’s the work: know the house, know what’s coming, and make sure the right thing happens at roughly the right time.
How we think about the work
Homes, not assets
We work for people who live in the houses they own. That’s a different job than managing rental property, and it asks different questions.
No commissions
We don’t take referral fees from contractors or insurers. You pay us, so our recommendation is only worth what it’s actually worth to you.
Plain language
Written in words you can act on, with the reasoning shown. If a recommendation only makes sense because we said so, it isn’t finished.
Your decisions
We bring the options and the tradeoffs. What happens to your house stays yours to decide, including deciding to wait.
